A 2005 Overview of Accreditation Issues


Please find the link below for a presentation delivered on behalf of CAAA to the International Council of Fine Arts Deans (ICFAD) at the 2005 conference of that organization held in October 2005 in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The paper addresses strategic issues associated with arts accreditation, including its fundamental purposes, its various functions, and its current efforts to revise standards and encourage new approaches to accreditation reviews.

The paper was presented by Karen Wolff of the University of Michigan, Carole Brandt of Southern Methodist University, and Samuel Hope of the National Office for Arts Accreditation. Brandt is a fine arts dean and past president of the National Association of Schools of Theatre (NAST). Wolff is a former fine arts dean and past president of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
